Visited our favourite bay on West Cork yesterday evening. For months we had dreamed of living there and have been holding out for a property to come up for sale. We visited the place at a different time of day to normal. While it was deserted, beautiful, it struck us all how unfriendly the place was and that it lacked a community spirit as the homes were holiday homes. Decided this was not the place for us. It takes more than beauty to make a home. Good neighbours and community are another.
